Halifax needs more of these great play cafés!

at playcafé on Woodlawn Road in Dartmouth celebrated their Grand Opening on Saturday with great fanfare. Denyse Sibley from FX101.9‘s Country Breakfast was on site giving away great swag and entries for a free Dominoes pizza a week for a year, as well as ballots for a signed Taylor Swift guitar! The pastry chef/co-owner made fantastic cupcakes and there were children & parents everywhere, having a blast.

The at playcafé is a fantastic café for work at home parents who want to get out of the home office, and entertain the kids, while having an opportunity to get some work done. The open concept of the play area which includes baby, toddler, and preschool/school-age play areas, makes it easy to keep an eye out while taking advantage of the free Wifi and sipping on a hot beverage or grabbing lunch. The highlight for kids being the climbing gym designed specially by at playcafé.

Two board rooms are available to rent for meeting space and/or parties, and there is ample comfy seating. The cafe offers full service catering, healthy snacks and yummy treats!

Easy to find, just off of Portland Street in the old Woodlawn mall, the space has plenty of parking. This will become a regular stop for me to meet with other work-at-home entrepeneurs. :-)

Cafes in other parts of the city with similar environments include Treehouse Cafe in Lower Sackville, Rebel Space in Tantallon, and APlaydia in Bedford.
